The Australian National University invites applications from talented scientists for a Post-doctoral Fellowship to undertake research in hydrogeochemistry and regolith geochemistry. This position is based at the Australian National University, Canberra and is funded by CRC LEME.
We seek a scientist with field, laboratory and interpretation skills in groundwater and regolith geochemistry and hydrogeology to help in mineral exploration and environmental applications. Applicants should have a PhD or equivalent in a relevant field with experience in field and laboratory programs and good communications skills.
The successful applicant will work researchers from ANU, including Dr DC "Bear" McPhail and Dr Sue Welch, and from LEME Core Parties and industry collaborators around Australia who are interested in groundwater and the regolith environment. Current research includes sampling, analysis and interpretation of groundwater and regolith in rural and remote locations. Opportunies exist to develop experimental projects studying the mobility of salt and metal through regolith, and development of geochemical and reactive transport models.
The Dept of Earth and Marine Sciences at ANU has an excellent array of analytical, experiemental, modelling and computing facilties as well as access to outside expertise and facilities.
